Vermont in the winter presents its own challenges from mother nature. The town of Rutland needed to develop two land parcels that would add more than 3 megawatts to Rutland’s solar capacity. Florence Electric rose to the challenge.
The Main Street Project required a 1.5 MW ground mount solar array consisting of 6462 modules and RBI racking system. Snow came early and heavy which impacted production and the schedule. Florence Electric mitigated the delays by adding manpower and overtime to finish the project by the scheduled completion date.
The Park Street Project was equally challenging due to bad weather, delayed deliveries and the land itself being a dedicated wetland area with 1-2 feet of water covering a large portion of the array.
Similar to the Main Street project, Florence Electric installed and wired inverters, DC combiners, DCPV tie combiners, auxiliary power center, DAS communications center, step up transformer and medium voltage equipment.
The crew completed the project safely, on time and on budget.
